Pregnant lady cannabilism

Ya know, I cant lie. I totally understand why most pregnant women refuse to work when they are knocked up. I am exhausted all the time and there are days (even my short days) at work when I literally just wanna pack up go home and say the hell with it ! Oh well gotta be a hard working mama.

Moving past that, I wanna talk about eating yourself. Yes thats right I said, eating yourself. There is this fascinating thing called placenta encapsulation. You see basically what you do is, after you give birth to the placenta, (Which we will talk about that as well :)) your hubby or significant other takes it down to the medical lab and that is if your in a hopsital. They will basically vaccum seal your placenta and/or store it properly for him to transport to your home or doula. After you arrive home your doula or whomever they use will then come to your home and begin "the process". This is when the placenta will be stuck in a little cooker, like the one used for cooking veggies and steaming things. After its done cooking your doula will take it home or put in your garage where it will dehydrate overnight, like making beef jerky only its your placenta :D The next day she will return grind up your amazing lifegrowing organ into little bacon bit like pieces and put them into capsules for yours truly to take daily like a supplement. Now what on earth is the significance of this you may ask? SUPPOSABLY it is supposed to dramatically help with post partum and getting your body and its horomones to balance out and go back to normal post baby. I have heard miracle stories about this placenta encapsulation. Unfortuantly all the women I know who have tried it will tell you that they believe it worked but its hard to say because they took it and had fairly easy post partum with no depression. However, they dont know how they would have been without the capsules so we dont really know if it made a difference. When you think about it, it really makes sense though. It might sound crazy and scary and weird and the list goes on but the American  Culture is one of the few around the world to not adopt this custom. All over the globe women do this and in many places families enjoy the placenta together after the birth. Many asain and south american countries enjoy it in a soup and even use cows placenta when it is available. Thats just to name a few. We may think this is freakshow status but really WE ARE THE WEIRD ONES. Most mammels eat the after birth and placenta before they even clean their young. There is a natural reason for why this is done and its been going on for a really long time so again it sorta really makes sense.

Upside of things: It works and yay easy post partum for me !

Downsides: Lets see ... hmm.. I have heard the process smells quite awful. It can be pricy to have done and...... Also, Brad may never look at me the same again. hahahaha Oh poor Bradley, at our birthing classes he cringes during the videos at the very site of the placenta not to mention how it looks coming out. I believe he has nightmares of theses images in his head, and here I am wanting to eat it. EAT MYSELF lol!

Anyone think Im crazy :) ?
